Grading Policy:

A semester grade will be cumulative from the first day of the semester until the last.  Online grades will be updated each week.  Parents and students are expected to take advantage of this grade communication to avoid any surprises when development reports, progress reports or report cards are due.

You can expect homework and classwork to be assigned every class meeting.  Up to two assignments per semester may be dropped.  Assignments will be graded in class by the students to be used as a self assessment; I will then collect and grade select problems for credit.  Extra credit will be offered to the entire class only a few times throughout the year; no extra credit will be offered on an individual basis.   

Tests and Quizzes will be graded by the teacher and may or may not receive partial credit.  Up to two quizzes per semester may be dropped.  Chapter tests will not be eligible for a dropped grade, however, students earning less than 70% on a chapter test, and who have completed every assignment from the chapter, will have one week to either correct mistakes or correct and retest for a grade improvement up to 70%.  This will be determined by me on a case by case basis.
